Wine Review: Bearboat Sauvignon Blanc

Another Trader Joe’s wine for under $5. I was tempted at the display on the end of the wine aisle with the right price of $3.99, slightly less than the moon wines. It’s definitely a step up from the Charle’s Shaw Sauvignon Blanc, but it’s not that much better than its worth, if that makes sense.

It’s light and somewhat fruity, with somewhat of a grassy flavor, but not as overpowering as one of the South African wines I’ve tried there before. It would probably go quite well with a chicken or fish dinner, or a lunch on the beach. I recommend it.

What’s most interesting to me, aside from the bears in a rowboat on the label, is that it’s from Alexander Valley, probably my favorite region right now–my favorite Cab is from there. However, unfortunately I can’t remember the name of the labeler, but am thinking it might actually be a winery named Alexander Valley. I’ll update on this after I consult my somalier 😉
